This book distills and presents practical information covering the history of aqueous cleaners -- what they are, how they work, and how to make best use of them in cleaning products and components in electronics, metalworking, precision manufacturing; pharmaceutical, food and beverage, and chemical processing; and many other industrial applications.

It is written by a medical doctor, Alan Zisman, and Malcolm McLaughlin who earned his M.A. in Chemistry from Columbia University. The two teamed up while working at Alconox, a New York-based firm which has been a leading supplier of aqueous cleaners for laboratory, healthcare and industrial applications for over 65 years.

One of my several hobbies beside cycling and hiking etc. is the chase of mandarin ducks with the camera :-)
These birds are very beautiful and fascinating. The most problem is the to come close to them, because the maximum approximation is always 3 meters. They have a real unfair strategy to let you know that you are too close with the camera. When I think that I am in a proper position to make a shot of them, they just leave the branch with a silent and blob into the water. Even I balanced on some dangerous branches on deep water to get more close to them. FORGET IT!

This dude was cleaning up himself and allowed me a distance of 2.90 meters. I made several shots of this procedure and every picture was a squiggly form and shape of him.

Sorry for the poor quality.

But one time..... I will come closer :-)..... and I will let you know of course!

...is actually a repeated pattern as it takes place much more often than just this lovely season.

Living with white requires some attention - not having pets and children at the moment helps - and of course frequent cleaning procedures.

The covers of these fairly old Ikea sofas have survived a few dosins of washes, as they are being washed almost every second month!

Here, as being put on fresh, no previous ironing required ( chosing the "light ironing" programm in the washing mashine helps a bit though)

Description:
Polysulphone (PS) hollow-fiber ultrafiltration membranes were characterized with streaming potential measurements. The effects of pH values, ionic strengths and valences have been studied. The isoelectric points (IEPs) of the membranes were experimentally determined from streaming potential coefficients variations with pH values at a given ionic strength (0.001 mol/L). The IEPs in different media (NaCl, KCl and CaCl"2 solutions) are, respectively, about 2.9+/-0.1, 2.9+/-0.1 and 3.5+/-0.1. This shows that the higher the valences are, the higher the IEPs are. In order to study the adsorption with colloidal hydroxide and the impact of cleaning procedures, the membranes were used to filter respectively 0.001 mol/LCuCl"2, FeCl"3 and AlCl"3 solutions at pH 6.8. The adsorptions of the membranes measured by adsorption percentages are sight and seem to be primarily on the surface of the membranes. The streaming potential coefficients and IEPs of all adsorbed membranes are more positive compared to the clean membranes. The changes of streaming potential coefficients increase with increasing the adsorptions. Simultaneous streaming potential and flux measurements were used to evaluate the efficiency of the cleaning procedures. After the application of a washing procedure, the recovery of the membrane surface charge can be evaluated by streaming potential measurements. These results show that the streaming potential method is a useful tool for the characterization of the membrane surface charge and control of the cleaning procedures.
